The Developmental Disabilities Office serves as the Single Point of Entry into the developmental disability services system. This system includes public and private residential services for people with developmental disabilities.

What are Developmental Disabilities?

They are physical or mental life-long disabilities, such as blindness, Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, or brain injuries. With specialized services, people with disabilities are better able to become independent and active members of our community. 

Waiver Services

Medicaid Home and Community –Based Waiver programs allow people greater flexibility to choose where they want to live. Also, it allows people to use services and supports that best suit their individual needs. The tiered waiver program includes: Children’s ChoiceNew Opportunities (NOW)Supports, and Residential Options (ROW).
